You Don't Have to be 100%, 100% of the Time
Perfectionism is actually a pretty dangerous belief to hold onto.
Consider the possibility that imperfection is normal, safe, and the only reality available to us. Consider that you can find a gray area that allows you to be enough and doing your best, while also being able to improve and grow. Consider where your perfectionistic drive comes from and go there for some marination and meditation.
Did you learn in your family of origin or culture that being perfect would make you lovable or worthy?
Have you picked up on diet culture’s message that perfection in food, body, and movement will guarantee you belonging, worthiness, and health?
Have teachers, coaches, significant relationships or other’s passed on generational debts and false traditions of perfect expectations?
Lemme save you a few grand in therapy; you can always change the narrative and decide these learned beliefs no longer work for you. It’s all about ️ self-compassion, feeling, dealing, healing, being a loving parent to self, and self-validation.
